History was made with the edition you hold in your hands. Admittedly, selecting a cover for each edition of Ventanas is usually an easy feat: We pore over dozens of gorgeous photos of homes and landscapes and choose the one that best suits the season and the appeal of our beloved readers. But this time that process would be a little more calculated. This time, we thought, there is a better way to get the slam-dunk shot otherwise known as “the cover.” Special thanks to Charlotte Tallman, Claudia Carle and Bill Faulkner who took a seed of an idea and grew a gorgeous, blooming photo from it. Thank you also to Table Occasions and the incredible talent of Chia Stewart, Stacey Hunt and Caroline Whitmore. Their impeccable style and design certainly made this photo pop. Thanks also to Michelle Gordon of Desert Sage Builders for the use of her home as the setting that best showcased the spectacular view of Picacho Peak.
A little deeper in the magazine you’ll find some other new surprises: Our Treasure Hunters series (page 50) took us to the southern-most part of Doña Ana County, to the War Eagles Museum in Santa Teresa. If you haven’t been there, you really need to do yourself a favor and check it out – at least once. It will amaze you and inspire you beyond words.
