My primary goal with this house was simply to save a 1907 landmark listed in the National Register of Historic Places,” states homeowner Cliff Schlothauer. “The effort garnered more attention than I ever anticipated, which made a difference, I think, in the final outcome. Before the remodeling project was even completed, historic society visitors from as far away as Washington, D.C, were touring the property.”

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported there were 33 suicides among children ages five to nine between 1999 and 2006.

Thirty-three years and still El Paso’s favorite barbecue restaurant can only mean that consistent quality and service are the foundation of The State Line. Opened in 1977, Assistant General Manager Kevin McGuire says the restaurant continues to serve the slow-smoked certified Black Angus beef that set the standard for El Paso. Their sauces, bread and desserts are made fresh daily and the portions are large.
